Preamble

The purpose of the qualification is to build the knowledge and skills required by the learners in End User Computing. It is intended to empower learners to acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes and values required to operate confidently in the End User Computing environment and to respond to the challenges of the economic environment. This programme will develop a learners capacity to function more effectively in any business environment by means of greater proficiency in computing.

Proficient Computer Operator, Multi-Media Operator or Facilitator of Computer Operations in multiple work environments (Coporate, Film and TV, Advertising)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Basic numeracy and literacy capabilites at NQF Level 2 or Pre-Assessment

COURSE OUTLINE

  • Prepare and produce a presentation

  • Work with simple databases

  • Create merged documents

  • Principles of the internet and the world-wide-web

  • Principles of Computer Programming

  • Principles of Computer Networks

  • Monitor and control the maintenance of office equipment

  • Work with spreadsheets

  • Identify and explain ICT risks and recommend security solutions
